Maintenance, Utilities and Safety

FOD Operations maintains the university’s physical environment and provides utilities and environmental safety services. Operations is FOD’s largest service unit and includes more than 650+ staff members working for The Ohio State University.

 

Service groups within Operations include:

 

REGIONAL INTEGRATED OPERATIONS (RIOPS)

RIOPS performs maintenance, custodial, roads, landscaping and grounds services.

 

UTILITIES | ENERGY SERVICES AND SUSTAINABILITY (ESS)

Utilities provides campus utilities to most campus buildings and supports the energy and sustainability program.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS)

EHS serves the university’s occupational and environmental health and safety, radiation, bio safety and emergency preparedness needs.
